Exam pattern Details of NTA 2019

Earlier, it was conducted once a year. But from 2019 onwards, it will be conducted twice a year under the supervision of NTA. Recently, the dates have also been released at a press conference. Candidates can now appear for JEE Main as per their convenience, either in the month of January or April 2019 or in both of these months

JEE Main 2018 Exam pattern - Paper 1

  • Parameters -Particulars 
  • Exam Mode - Online (Computer-based test) only 
  • Exam Duration - 3 hours 
  • Subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics 
  • Total number of questions - 90 (Each subject will have 30 questions) 
  • Type of Questions - Objective having 4 options each with only 1 correct option 
  • Marking Scheme - 4 marks will be awarded for every correct response; for incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be given for unattempted questions. 
  • Maximum Marks - Total of 360 Marsks 
  • Medium of paper - English or Hindi (Candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli can opt for Gujarati as well) 

JEE Main Exam pattern 2018 - Paper 2

  • Parameters - Particulars 
  • Exam Mode - To be notified 
  • Exam Duration - 3 hours 
  • Subjects - Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing skills 
  • Total number of questions - 82 (Mathematics 30 questions, Aptitude 50 and drawing 2) 
  • Type of Questions - Maths and Aptitude will be objective type while drawing section will have questions to test the drawing and sketching skills 
  • Marking Scheme - 4 marks will be awarded for every correct response; for incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be given for unattempted questions. 
  • Maximum Marks - Total of 390 Marsks (Drawing section will be of total 70 marks, marking of every question will be given along with it.) 
  • Medium of paper - English or Hindi (Candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli can opt for Gujarati as well)
